Rudy Mendoza is a dedicated public servant, community advocate, and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in leadership and service to his community. As the Mayor of Woodlake, California, Rudy has championed initiatives that enhance public safety, water resiliency, housing, and transportation infrastructure. His work is grounded in a deep commitment to improving the quality of life for the residents of his hometown.
In addition to his role as mayor, Rudy serves as CEO of CALA (California Agricultural Labor Association), overseeing operational management and a budget of nearly $1 million. CALA supports over 100 members, including growers, packers, and farm labor contractors, by providing regulatory compliance audits, risk management services, and human resource support. Rudy holds multiple certifications in occupational health and safety and leads training programs on critical topics such as workplace violence prevention, accident investigation, and first responder care.
Rudy also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Tulare County Association of Governments (TCAG), where he oversees transportation projects that benefit the entire San Joaquin Valley. He was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the California League of Cities, where he influences statewide policy and collaborates with State and Federal legislators on key issues affecting local communities.
Previously, Rudy worked as District Director for former Congressman Devin Nunes, a role he held for seven years, and gained extensive experience in navigating legislative processes and addressing constituent needs. He is a graduate of the FBI’s Citizen Academy and a steadfast supporter of law enforcement, with endorsements from organizations such as the Tulare County Deputy Sheriff’s Association.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Rudy is a proud small business owner, a devoted husband, and a father of three. He is actively involved in his community as a youth athletics coach and serves on numerous boards and committees throughout the San Joaquin Valley.
