ACTION ALERT: AB 617 will affect every business in the San Joaquin Valley

Every business in the San Joaquin Valley will be affected by how AB 617 (The Community Air Protection Program passed last year) is implemented.

NOW is the time to get involved.

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) Blueprint for how to implement AB 617 (CLICK HERE for a copy) includes looking at land uses as a means to reduce air pollution.

That means the ARB potentially could have a hand in determining whether and how housing is built. It could curtail where businesses locate or whether they could expand.

The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District already works closely with city and county land use planning agencies to make sure growth has the least air quality impacts possible.

ARB involvement would add an unnecessary, burdensome layer of government and take away local control for no gain in air quality and WITHOUT LEGAL AUTHORITY!

It’s up to us to SAY NO.

The ARB is holding an AB 617 Consultation Group meeting July 31 in Fresno from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and the land use issue will be discussed.

Please join us at this meeting to voice your opinion.

RSVP HERE if you can make it.
