Central Valley businesses are finally acknowledged by the Air Resources Board (ARB). Chair Mary Nichols expressed the need to reach out to Central Valley.
Even though the vote for the price ceiling remained the same, after a huge showing in November and another showing of people today, Mary Nichols acknowledged that businesses, particularly those in the Central Valley have fears and concerns that need to be acknowledged and that the ARB needs to do a better job of addressing that.
AB 398 directed ARB to set reasonable cost controls on carbon credits in order to protect consumers.
Unfortunately the ARB set a price ceiling on those credits that economists predict could cause soaring fuel prices. BizFed Central Valley and numerous other consumer groups pleaded with ARB to set a reasonable price ceiling, but our pleas were ignored.
