BizFed Central Valley board members voted to oppose Assembly Bill 1745, which would have mandated that all new cars sold in California be electric ONLY by 2040.

The BizFed CV board voted to join a broad coalition of businesses and organizations opposing the measure, authored by Assembly Member Philip Ting (D-San Francisco).

And BizFed CV sent its own letter explaining how burdensome such a mandate would be on families and small businesses here in the Central Valley, where we must travel long distances for school, work and shopping and don’t have the needed infrastructure to sustain a large electric vehicle fleet.

Not to mention, Central Valley families and businesses already struggle to pay extremely high power bills – the highest in the state.  Adding electric vehicle charging would only increase that suffering in a region where 25 to 40 percent of families already need subsidies to pay for electricity.

We were heard!!!

On Monday, Assembly Member Ting PULLED AB 1745!

Congratulations team – we are stronger together.
